Sensitive Drill Attachment

Very small drills are easily broken if pushed too hard. The leverage of a handwheel sometimes makes it difficult to get a good feel for when a drill is cutting well or when you are pushing too hard. The sensitive drilling attachment allows you to pull a 5/32" Jacobs chuck down by hand. This gives you both a good feel for the cut and helps speed up the process of peck drilling. The chuck accepts drills from 5/32" down to #80 (.0135"). It is spring loaded so it returns to the up position on its own. A knurled ring that turns on a ball bearing is gripped by the operator to pull the chuck down while it is spinning. The chuck mounts easily to the spindle nose by inserting the body inside the spindle and screwing the mount to the ¾-16 threads on the outside of the spindle nose. This drill makes a handy and more sensitive substitute for a quill feed on the mill. Designed for use on a Sherline mill only.
